Fall Brushing and Trail Maintenance Schedule

Posted on: September 13, 2020

Dear Cross Country Cruiser Members:

Trail Maintenance is a big part of our club. Please consider volunteering for the Trail Brushing Season.

Work days are always Tuesday and Wednesdays

Start Time: 8:30 AM

Location: Cross Country Cruiser Club House, 1503 Helminski Rd, Arbor Vitae, WI

September 15th, 16th , 22nd,  and 23rd we will be working on trails Trails 5, 6, 51, 10, 3 and 11.

September 29th and 30th we will complete what is still needed on trails north of our Club House.

October 6th and 7th if we are finished with September list of trails we will put posts up for in town fencing.

October 13th and 14th we can start brushing on the Bearskin Trail.

October 20th and 21st, we will finish up on Bearskin Trail if still needed.

October 27the and 28th will be discussed if there are issues that need to be addressed on trails and signing.

We need volunteers for all of these days, especially the Bearskin Trail since it is a very long stretch of trail.

After that we will inspect the trails until the gun deer season begins and again after it ends. Hopefully we can be inspected by Dale Mayo as soon as possible.

Mowing is on a trail by trail basis. Panning and rolling of trails will get underway when there’s at least 6 inches of snow on the ground.

This schedule is subject to change based on weather and the number of Volunteers. If you cannot volunteer during the week there will also be opportunity on some Saturday’s. I will announce that when the time comes.

We always have fun and enjoy the fall colors. So please come enjoy the comradery and outdoors with us by volunteering.

***Here is an update of what has already been done on the trails: September 8th and 9th we completed Trail 51 which is south of the Cruiser club house as well as completing Trail 47. We will be running the new brush cutter through when it is ready.

Please let me know if you would like to volunteer for any of the upcoming dates. You can contact me, Don Schneider on my cell at 262-930-6914 or email moc.liamgnull@15redienhcsnod with your name, phone and date you are available to lend a hand or just show up on one of the dates. We don’t turn down volunteers.

Sincerely,

Don Schneider
